Hello! My name is Jaya Matteis (pronounced JAY-uh muh-TAZE), my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a recent graduate of Graphic Design at VCUarts. Digital design has been my main practice lately, but I have roots in analog work such as drawing and painting as well.
My design experience has mainly consisted of collage, illustration, type design, web design, animation, and poster design. I have recently been exploring more handmade avenues of craft such as screen printing, letterpress, and book arts.
Aside from design work, I take any chance I can to get outside; nature serves as my much-needed escape from projects and computer screens. I am additionally building on my knowledge of Italian language and culture.
