Hello! My name is Jaya Matteis (pronounced JAY-uh muh-TAZE), my pronouns are she/her, and I am a graduate of Graphic Design at VCUarts with a minor in Italian Studies. Digital design is currently my main practice; I have roots in analog work such as drawing and painting as well.
My experience has mainly consisted of digital collage, illustration, type design, web design, animation, and poster design. Over the past few years, I have been exploring more handmade avenues of physical print and book arts.
Aside from design work, I take any chance I can to get outside; nature serves as my much-needed escape from projects and computer screens. I am additionally building on my knowledge of Spanish & Italian language and culture.
